Buffalo.

Buffalo.

We arrived in Buffalo late at night after an 11 hour bus ride we were ready to sleep.

Our plans were to stay one night and head to Niagara Falls then to Toronto and down to a friends house we had met while in Tybee Island, but that wasn’t the way it went.

So we arrived at 9.30pm and hadn’t ate anything all day so we decided to head out for dinner TGI Fridays was only maybe at most 3 block down, but it took us um… 20 minutes to get there. The rain had started to pour just after we checked in and it was so heavy that we could walk and we didn’t have an umbrella so we would run to each doorway until we got there.

We had a shit waiter my burger bun was so burnt it was disgusting, I asked the waiter why is it like this because we had been to TGI Fridays many times before and I get the same meal. He then bluntly said ‘that’s how our buns are’ and walked away, so he didn’t come back to the table while we were there, not even to give us the check so I wrote on the check this is how we tip in Australia and didn’t give him anything.

Im sorry for any Americans that might read this I understand your tips are everything but I get better service at McDonalds and that’s saying a lot over here so I had to do what I had to do.

Day 2.

We were sick of carrying our sleeping bag around in a plastic bag so we decided to go and get a bag for it, now that we were going to stay 2 more nights in Buffalo.

We found out a place that sold exactly what we wanted, now it wasn’t raining when we started walking just overcast, and we were told it would only be about a 30 minute walk, so we got on our way. About 10 minutes into our walk of course it starts raining, not heavy but enough to piss you off. Then it got so heavy that out was starting to soak us, we had to decide if we wanted to continue on or turn. We both decided that we should continue as we go on wetter and wetter we got, finally after 45 minutes of walking freezing winds and pouring rain we had arrived to a shop that was closed.

So we sat broken sprits and cold and the rain had got even worse with the wind picking up, we called a taxi to pick us up. While we waited for the taxi we sat in this abandoned factory, it was huge and weird because the power was on. It was a cool spot to take some photos.

Then the taxi driver, I don’t know if he was smoking crack or drunk or thought we were running away from something I don’t know, but as soon as we set foot in the car the questions came and didn’t stop.

Why are you out here, are you squatting? Are you running away? Where do you work? Why did you need a bag? Why were you coming back from Toronto only to go back? They just got really weird when work got involved he tried to tell me how to work illegally. Then he gives us a ripper he said ”see this I.D so I can drive as a taxi driver, its fake I can get you one” and then followed to up with how he gets under the table jobs.

After work he told us some of the people he has drove around, he explained that he drove from Buffalo NY to Miami Florida in 13 hours and they paid him $7,000 for the drive.

Fun drive back I guess, we watch bridesmaids after we had a warm shower and relaxed and hit the hay.

Day 3.

Today was organizing day, we had to plan or get some idea of what we wanted to do and how we wanted to go about it all.

Then we met a guy from the UK and spent the night with him, that is where we got the wings, ohhhh so good.(check out food).

We sat and watched movies and got drunk the rest of the night.
